Book Review: Warriors Book Series
As well as finding books that inspire us to travel to a place we also need books to just plain enjoy while we’re traveling. This is especially true for young people who like to be kept busy and entertained. I met up with young Leah while we were both in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I asked her if she could recommend some books that she had been reading during her family trip. Below is her review of the Warriors Book Series.
The Warrior books are about clans of cats. The cats can communicate with each other but not humans. They have many adventures. Sometimes the clans battle each other or need to fulfill a prophesy. Every book of Warriors is action packed and very dramatic.
When a kitten is born, the parents have to name him. For example: Blazekit.
Then they do training, hunting, and protecting of their clan. When they are ready, they will become Apprentices. As Apprentices they all have the name “paw” at the end. Example: Blazepaw. The young cats train some more and then they become Warriors and get the name ‘cloud’ at the end of their name. Example: Blazecloud.

There is a medicine cat in each clan too! They can have apprentices but if you become a medicine cat, you can’t have a mate or have kittens. The medicine cats and their apprentices are:
- Leafpool and Jaypaw (Thunderclan)
- Mothwing and Willowpaw (Riverclan)
- Littlecloud and ? (Shawdowclan)
- Barkface and Kestrelpaw (Windclan)
Each clan has leaders. All the leaders have the “star” at the end of there name.
The leaders are:
- Firestar, leader of Thunderclan.
- Onestar, leader of Windclan.
- Blackstar, leader of Shawdowclan.
- And Leopardstar, leader of Riverclan.
There is even a Deputy who will lead the clan next after there leader loses all their nine lives.
Each leader has to go to the Moonpool to get there nine lives. At Moonpool they meet with the star clan which is made up of the souls of cats who have already died. The former leader of the clan gives the new leader his or her nine lives.
Each clan lives in a different kind of place. Riverclan habitat is a island in the middle and a stream flowing all around it. Shawdowclan likes to have marshy muddy land and pine trees. Thunderclan likes to have lots of trees and prey and Windclan likes to have the hills.
