The Granta Reading Group meets on the second and last Friday in the month. It's facilitated by a British Council team member and a library member.
In this sesion we will discuss excerpt by Ned Beauman. Ned Beauman was born in Hampstead, London in 1985, and was educated at Winchester School and Trinity College, Cambridge. He has written for Dazed & Confused, AnOther and the Guardian.His debut novel, Boxer, Beetle, won the Goldberg Prize for Outstanding Debut Fiction and the Writers’ Guild Award for Best Fiction Book. His second novel, The Teleportation Accident, was long listed for the Man Booker Prize. In 2013 He was included on Granta magazine’s prestigious list of 20 ‘Best Young British Novelists’. His third novel, Glow will be published in 2014 by Sceptre in the UK. County Library Children's Book of the Year Award and won the 2003 North East Book Award. Her latest book for young adults is Close-Up (2006). Paralysed (2005) won the South Lanarkshire Book Award and the Leicester Book of the Year Award and is about someone dealing with a spinal cord injury. She has also written three non-fiction books for teenagers: two GCSE guides, English Language (2001) and English Literature(2001); and Fat (1997), which deals with body image.
